if you don't already read NPR's website, NPR has made their Listeners' Poll for the best music of 2008 (so far).

Pretty.Odd. made the list and the song played is "When The Day Met The Night."

Well played, Bob Boilen.

HAY! So, we really don't do much with this community, because there are better and faster news sources for all things emo. But we have 83 members and it would be sucky to waste such awesomeness. SO.

Any ideas?

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson

In a recent interview with Us magazine Ashlee Simpson’s publicist revealed that she is definitely “happily engaged” to the Fall Out Boy rocker.

The musical pair got together back in October 2006 - when many of us were like Pete who? - and have since been more-or-less inseperable; being more attached to each other then they are to their hair-straightener’s (if that’s possible?).

“He got down on one knee and she said yes,” a family friend reveals. “She has an amazing ring, and they are so in love.”

Just days ago, the couple traveled to Colorado to visit Pete’s brother and his art exhibit. It is here that Pete, 28, apparently popped the question to Ashlee, 23.

Ashlee released an official statement in a post on website friendsorenemies.com anouncing her extreme joy and excitement, and dettering fans thoughts of this report being a mere rumour.

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we
wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we
are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your
support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a
very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it
straight from us.”

The wedding date is yet to be set, though ‘Us’ speculates a late 2008 wedding.

YES i'm late with the news yet again.

and for the record, i did not make that beautiful glitterfy monstrosity
Hemingway Wentz

Hey guys, check out Pete Wentz’s new fashion line exclusive to Clandestine Industries and BP. Nordstrom!

The styles include a bunch of fun, art-themed tops. The series of cereal box-screened tees are so awesome we’d eat them if we could! The word search hoody and tank are also among our faves; see if you can figure out what all the word jumbles actually mean.

There’s also an exclusive Fashion Documentary DVD … you can go behind the scenes and see some interview footage with Pete, see his house, meet his dog Hemingway and get a peek of his not-so-normal life. It’s good stuff. Go in store or shop the online boutique at Nordstrom.com and check it out.

Oh, and by the way, you can also visit the BP. Nordstrom MySpace page or download a Hemingway ringtone on the BP. Mobile site.

The Starting Line have a message for everyone. The band, manager, and other friends will be in this thread for a while answering questions. Please stop in to say "hi," ask a question, or just hang out for a little while.

Message From the Band
From all the east coast to west coast states, I want to feel the warmth from the buzz that I create. But I'm really not too sure, if it's ever gonna happen, but I know that I'm not too concerned.

Imagine getting your first job when you were 15 years old and doing that exact same job for the rest of your life. Even if it’s the dream job that most people would kill for, eventually you need to stop for a minute and see what else is out there.

This is one of the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make but after eight years of nonstop touring and recording The Starting Line will be taking a break after their headline tour with Bayside, Four Year Strong and Steel Train (March 18 – April 20) and the college shows following the tour. This break does NOT mean the band is breaking up or going on hiatus it just means were going to stop for a little while and focus on other things in our lives besides The Starting Line. This break may last a year, two years or a few months, as of right now we don’t know. We’re talking to some friends about doing a quick tour to South America as well as options to tour Europe, Japan and Australia again and we're not ruling them out. We just aren’t going to be doing any full time touring or recording as The Starting Line for a while.

Fall Out Boy will be making a cameo appearance in an upcoming Seth green film!

Currently called the Untitled Teen Road Movie, it's rumored the flick will be titled Sex Drive. Fall Out Boy will make a musical appearance, playing several songs off of Infinity on High. Pete Wentz will also have some speaking lines. (*headdesk*)

A quick report from the set:

This past Wednesday I was an extra in the upcoming Seth Green movie, "Sex Drive" (currently it has the title "Untitled Teen Road Movie" but it's more than likely being changed to "Sex Drive") and in my scene, Fall Out Boy was there. Pete also has a few speaking lines. They performed "Fame < Infamy," "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" and a short cover of "Don't Matter" by Akon.

Pete was actually really nice and funny. People kept yelling out, "How's Ashlee!" but he was nice about it. When we were at "lunch" (just before midnight), Andy came out and was talking to everyone even though it was in the low 40s/high 30s outside. After they left, to try to keep everybody awake/happy, Seth Green went on stage and just started talking about random things. At one point he was like "So how many of you have made out with Pete Wentz!? Come on everybody, put up those hands! I know you all did!" It was cute.

I guess that means this entry in Pete's Meelikey.com blog makes a lot more sense:

I love Seth Green. I'll be checking this out. Pete's "acting" should just add LOLs.
